What's happening with Shimmershoal?

If you saw my last post and how long ago it was, you'd be forgiven for thinking this project had stalled out. Nope! The truth is I've just been doing most of my posting on my bluesky account these days: @iancaisley.bsky.social

So what IS the status of things, you ask? Well, the plan has changed a little compared to my last post as I've learned more and done a lot of thinking. There will still be a new demo coming, but it won't be quite as large as the original plan was. This isn't due to lack of working on the project; in fact the game is currently about 33% complete. Instead I've gotten advice about demo length and how too much can be off-putting. So that's the plan on that.

The bigger news, though...

Shimmershoal is coming to Steam!

That's right, I've made the decision to put the game on Steam as soon as possible. Right now I'm working to get things in order for that, which means I don't have a lot of new content to post in the meantime you haven't already seen if you've been following my bluesky account (if you haven't seen it, go check it out!)
